How Big Data Brings Value to Audi & Klarna

We’re about a week away from DataWorks Summit Berlin (April 16-19)! We have a number of impressive keynote and breakout speakers lined up. These speakers include Erik Zeitler and Per Ullberg from Klarna, and Carsten Herbe and Matthias Graunitz from Audi.

Klarna

Klarna was founded in 2005 in Stockholm, Sweden with the aim of making it easier for people to shop online. The bank provides online financial services such as payment solutions for online storefronts, debt collection, credit payments and more. Its core service is to assume stores’ claims for payments and handle customer payments, thus eliminating the risk for seller and buyer. Klarna is now one of Europe’s largest banks and is providing payment solutions for 60 million consumers across 89.000 merchants in 14 countries.

Erik Zeitler and Per Ullberg will be speaking in the Enterprise Adoption track about the teams, tools, and practices they used for scalability and resilient data value at Klarna Bank. They have built these practices and tools throughout several years of running bank applications on Hortonworks Hadoop. This assists them in making online decisions on risk, fraud, and ID.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automobile manufacturer that designs, engineers, produces, markets and distributes luxury vehicles. Audi is a member of the Volkswagen Group and has its roots at Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. Audi-branded vehicles are produced in nine production facilities worldwide.

Carsten Herbe and Matthias Graunitz will be speaking in the Enterprise Adoption track about building Audi’s enterprise big data platform, beginning from a first Hadoop PoC to a multi-tenant enterprise platform. Their session will give an overview of their current architecture, including how some use cases are implemented on it.
